Lights. Camera. Action!

There are some books that you read and can actually see them play out on the big screen. Aside from authors wanting their own books made into a movie, some reads just naturally make your thoughts go there. Maybe you think of the actors/actresses, or you love the setting, or you want to be visually moved, scared, or romanced. For whatever reason, books make great movies…depending on the director. Luckily, I did get to see some favorites, such as The Book Thief, Me Before You, and The Horse Whisperer. So here and why are the books I’d love to see at the movie theater.

“A pale reflection of herself, an echo of solitude and loss. We were always two fugitives riding on the spine of a book, eager to escape into worlds of fiction and secondhand dreams.”

Anyone who has ever read a book post of mine knows how much I love this book. I want to see what the Cemetery of Forgotten Books looks like and catapult back into 1945 Barcelona. And along with Daniel and Beatrice, get reacquainted with the characters, especially Fermin. That would be an adventure in itself.
RIP Mr. Zafon

Kaz and Inej. Enough said. Okay, not really. It was my first fantasy series and I’d like to experience this world visually.

“All the searching and longing for the secret of being a good man, and all I needed to do was follow the example of one very good woman.”

I’m not much of a memoir reader but I read this one years ago when it first came out. I’d love to travel along his NY experience, the bar on the corner, and meet his mother.

“The October air filled with corn dust enough to make each sunset a postcard, with colors like a benign nuclear explosion.”

The title alone made me want this book. I love literary fiction’s deep connection with the setting and characters. This is one I’d like to see played out.

What book(s) would you love to see on the big screen?

Visually Come Alive,
